Trashy Creations is a body of work developed over the past 20 years, rooted in the simple—and often delightfully messy—act of going out into the world to collect discarded materials: plastic bottles and bags, CDs, cardboard, and whatever else catches my eye. I bring these materials back, clean them, sort them, obsess over their possibilities, and transform them into unexpected objects, sculptures, and installations.
In 2022 and 2023 the production company Fiis from Chile commissioned by Entel Chile, asked me to create a series of pop up using my trashy creativity.
I put together an amazing team of fabricators and scenic installers: Taller Vietcong, Taller Madrid and Vitral Rojo made this project possible, and an inflated plastic heart by Impermanencia.

Giving the Discarded a Second Life
Working with discarded materials has become a deeply personal and communal part of my artistic practice. I am drawn to what has been overlooked, broken, or under valued, and to the possibility of transforming it into something unexpected, meaningful, and beautiful.
Over time, I have realized that this process mirrors my own way of moving through hardship: when life has left me feeling discarded, overwhelmed, or broken, I return to this way of making. I gather what remains, reorganize it, give it new meaning, and allow light and storytelling to transform it.
These installations are therefore more than exercises in reuse; they are acts of repair and collective creation. I am especially interested in occupying unexpected spaces and working alongside communities, creating environments where the process of transformation can become a shared experience. By giving discarded materials a new life, I hope to create spaces where people can recognize their own stories of resilience, dignity, and renewal. The act of rebuilding becomes not only a way to heal, but an invitation for others to see possibility in what—and who—has been overlooked.

The Cardboard City Project, was a collaboration with Trinidad Pacheco under our "Pandilla Mantequilla" collective. We created two exhibitions between the years 2009 and 2010.

Al frente tengo esa caja que me cocina, esa caja que me entretiene, esa caja que me organiza, esa caja que me protege, que nos separa, que individualiza.
Mi cuerpo robusto también se va haciendo caja.
Mi mente ahora está cuadrada, mi culo también, por culpa de esa nueva silla de diseño moderno.
La tierra esta llorando, etsá cambiando por todos lados.
